Tue, Feb 22, 2011
Biologists
behavior specialists communicated with dolphins in the wild, in the first experiment of this type.

After the man, dolphins are intelligent animals with a complex brain that corresponds to a high degree of intelligence.
In captivity it has been rewarding responses communication with food, but was working with dolphins free performed by the Wild Dolphin Project in Florida, using a primitive form of language sounds, symbols and accessories.
The study, published in the journal Acta Astronautica, indicates that focused on ordered, humans and dolphins, each other, objects such as balls and handkerchiefs.
A large keypad served underwater area studied, with each key painted with a different symbol, which emitted a whistle with a precise tone.
When a dolphin pressed a certain key with your nose, scientists are showing an object class into the water. This was expected to decide dolphin whistle tone that the key may be issued, to throw the object are expected.
For three years, scientists played with the Dolphins in 40 half-hour sessions and found that young females were more interested in the game, while the males were less attracted young
The sessions were more successful when biologists before the dolphins swam slowly, especially if they made contact with the eyes and mimicked their movements to each other.

QUARTS

The quart[1] is a unit of volume (for either the imperial or US customary unit of measure) equal to a quarter of a gallon, two pints, or four cups. Since gallons of various sizes have historically been in use, quarts of various sizes have also existed; see gallon for further discussion. Three of these kinds of quarts remain in current use, all approximately equal to one litre.

[edit] Definitions and Equivalencies

United States liquid quart
All traditional U.S. length and volume measures have been legally standardized for commerce using the definition of 1 yard being exactly equal to 0.9144 meter. From this definition is derived the metric equivalencies for inches, feet, and miles; as well as area measures; and measures of volume. The US liquid quart equals 57.75 cubic inches, which is exactly equal to 0.946352946 litres.[2][3]
1 US liquid quart = 1/4 US liquid gallons

= 2 US liquid pints

= 4 US liquid cups

= 32 US fluid ounces
